What will I be doing?
Haygrove School are seeking to appoint a proactive and committed PFSA to work within our supportive Pastoral Team. The role will be varied and the post holder will be required to work directly with students, their parents/carers and other agencies and services. Under the direction of the SEMHco and Assistant Head/SENDCo, the postholder will:
- Support children and young people to make the most of their education and their time at school.
- Strengthen and increase communications between home and school.
- Ensure parents/carers are aware of help and advice available through other agencies.
- Encourage parents/carers to take an active part in their child’s education and learning.
- Provide opportunities for parents/carers to meet through organised events.
The successful applicant will give independent advice and flexible support and guidance on various issues, including parenting concerns, family issues, school attendance, behaviour problems and drugs/alcohol awareness.

The ideal candidate will:
- be self-motivated and able to work flexibly and with minimum supervision
- have a passion and commitment for supporting young people to reach their full potential
- have excellent communication and be personable whilst understanding the need for confidentiality
- possess a positive and resilient attitude and a calm and flexible approach
- Promote and safeguard the safety and welfare of students in accordance with the Trust’s policies
This post may involve home visits and the post- holder will be required to have a full driving licence.
