Swimming Teacher, 10 hours per week, term-time only and Teaching Assistant, 16.25 hours per week, term-time. Combined hours of 26.25 hours per week, term-time only.
Swimming Teacher hours will be paid at Unqualified Teacher Point 1, £17.17 per hour and TA hours will be paid at Grade 15.3 £12.45 per hour.
What will I be doing?
We are looking for a teaching assistant and experienced swimming teacher to join our dedicated team, further supporting our caring and supportive learning ethos and enabling our pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas of development.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the class teacher, PE Lead and Head Teacher to deliver weekly afternoon swimming sessions across the school and support class-based learning during the mornings.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a relevant NVQ Level 3
- Hold certification in the teaching of swimming within the primary phase
- Have experience working as a teaching assistant with primary age children
- Be passionate about inclusion and meeting children’s individual needs
- Be highly motivated, resilient and committed to securing the best possible outcomes for our children
- Be positive, proactive and always solution focused
- Have high expectations of themselves and the children they work with
- Be a team player with a good sense of humour
- Be willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for our pupils
- Be able to plan, organise and deliver swimming sessions
- Have an up to date First Aid qualification
- Have a commitment to their own professional development
