Who we are
We are Dillington Advertising Services, a well-known Professional Publishers Association registered advertising agency within Somerset Council, located in Taunton, Somerset.
The Southwest Advertising Agency was established in-house in Somerset Council 40 years ago. In the 1990s, it was relocated to an office space in Dillington House and was renamed to Dillington Advertising Services.
The advertising team relocated back to its original home in County Hall in the 2000s, but kept the Dillington Advertising Services name.
What we do
On this website we list job vacancies for the council, schools, early years settings, other local authorities, charities, and voluntary sector organisations.
Other services we offer include placing adverts with local and national press and online publications for recruitment, public notices, and public service announcement advertising campaigns, such as for Fostering.
We have strong, long-standing relationships with advertisers such as The Guardian and Fish4 jobs (Somerset live), as well as with specialist job boards for education (the Times Educational Supplement and eTeach), planning, housing, environment and many more. Through these relationships we are able to negotiate great value advertising prices for our clients.
How to advertise with us
Please send your advert information to adverts@somerset.gov.uk and include the following:
- Job title
- Salary
- Working hours
- Contract type
- Location
- Closing date
- A copy of your logo, if you have one
Please include a detailed summary of the role. Include any qualifications or experience required, and whether a DBS check is needed.
Application options
There are two ways for a candidate to apply to your job advert. Either:
- provide a website link or email address for the candidate to apply directly with you, or
- provide an application form which will be attached to the job advert for the candidate to download. They can upload the completed document via our website and we will pass it on to you.
Information and fees
The fee to advertise a vacancy for up to one month on this website is £65 plus VAT per role.
Invoices are sent by email. Please provide full address details and an email address for invoicing, as well as a purchase order number if required by your organisation.
When advertising on our job board, we can also upload school vacancies to the government website for any school in Somerset, please let us know if this is required.
Somerset LA maintained schools can advertise with us on Jobs in Somerset free of charge.
