What will I be doing?
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and proactive professional to join our inclusive and welcoming school as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, including social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). This role may also involve working with small groups of children to deliver targeted interventions. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils who need consistent, nurturing and structured support to thrive. What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
- Has experience of working with primary-aged pupils, including those with SEN and/or SEMH needs
- Is patient, resilient, and committed to building positive, trusting relationships
- Understands the importance of emotional regulation, routine and consistency in supporting vulnerable pupils
- Is confident working 1:1 as well as with small groups, adapting activities to meet individual needs
- Is solution-focused, calm under pressure and able to respond positively to challenges
- Has high expectations for all pupils and a strong commitment to inclusion
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff, parents and professionals
