What will I be doing?

Ashlands Church of England  Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work alongside our class teachers. The successful candidate will help provide a stable, caring, stimulating, and supportive learning environment for a child with an EHCP , enabling them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The core purpose of this role is to work closely with class teachers to support a child with an EHCP, ensuring they are fully engaged in their learning and making sustained progress. The role also involves promoting the child’s independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion through both 1:1 and small group sessions.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

The ideal candidates will:

  • Have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant and demonstrate a good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Be committed to supporting and understanding the individual needs of pupils
  • Possess a positive, flexible, and collaborative attitude, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Hold a relevant TA qualification or be willing to work towards achieving Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework.
