About the job
Key information
UCS College Group Residential provision provides accommodation for students aged 16+ studying across any of our colleges. The College’s primary student accommodation is based at Cannington and consists of 209 beds. The college also offers accommodation in Taunton at our Wellington Road properties, providing 21 beds that are situated over eight flats. This is alongside the 198 bed Canonsgrove existing provision situated in Trull. An exciting new area of growth for the Residential provision is our Houses of Multiple Occupancy across Bridgwater and the surrounding areas.
A key priority for all Residential roles is to strive towards providing an inclusive, supportive and exceptional service to all of our students and residents. The Residential Team interviews and allocates residential places to students. They provide 24/7 support for residential students with issues ranging from accommodation queries to student wellbeing, entertainment and enrichment. The team’s primary responsibility is the safeguarding of residential students.
The purpose of the role of Accommodation Officer (commercial) is to provide a blend of administrative support to the Residential Team alongside direct interaction with our students, staff members and external providers. The Accommodation Officer (commercial) will progress allocations for block release (short stay) students, HMOs students and Commercial bookings, taking the lead on completing Getting to Know You Meetings with the under 18 block apprentices, ensuring accurate records are maintained and GDPR compliance is observed. This post will act as a crucial link between these students/residents and the Residential Team.
The post holder will work closely with the Health & Safety Team as well as the Facilities and Maintenance Team to track and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and maintenance of accommodation. In addition, the post holder will arrange the procurement of suitable items such as furniture, when required. The post holder will also liaise with the finance team, Residential Management Team and external stakeholders to raise invoices for residential accommodation.
The role is primarily based at the Cannington College, however, reasonable travel to other sites may be required.
