What will I be doing?
The Foundation Learning Department supports learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), barriers to learning, and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH). The provision offers high-quality, tailored programmes designed to meet the individual needs of learners.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for learners with additional support needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning. A key aspect of the role will include delivering engaging and accessible Catering skills sessions, which support the development of practical, vocational competencies. These sessions will be designed to build confidence, promote independence, and enhance employability prospects through hands-on learning in food preparation, hygiene, and kitchen safety.
The post holder will develop exciting opportunities to enrich the learner experience, raise aspirations, and positively impact learners’ readiness to learn. The role focuses on empowering and engaging learners, developing transferable skills, promoting independence, and planning for their next steps into education, employment or training—with Catering forming a valuable pathway for progression.
