This is a truly exciting time to join University Centre Somerset College Group (UCS), which has achieved unprecedented success in its response to the workforce skills, competence and compliance agenda supporting the UK’s clean energy transition and the “first-in-a-generation” new nuclear build at Hinkley Point C (HPC).
The College is the leading skills delivery partner to the HPC project and works in collaboration with the client, contractors and supply chain. UCS, as Managing Agent for the Centres of Excellence with HPC, operates three unique facilities that support the Tier 1 Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC contractors as they mobilise and develop their workforces to meet the quality, safety and compliance standards required during the Mechanical & Electrical phase of the build.
- Welding Centre of Excellence (WCoE) located at Bridgwater College.
- Electrical Centre of Excellence (ECoE) located at SDC3, Bridgwater.
