About the school

Ashill is a village about 7 miles south of Taunton and 3 miles north-west of Ilminster. It is home to our small primary school, with 36 children across two classes, and with a reputation for being particularly welcoming, nurturing and inclusive. Our recent Ofsted recognised the behaviours and attitudes of our children as being ‘outstanding’ and all visitors to our school are impressed by the positive attitudes our pupils have to their learning. We have high aspirations for our children and our ambitious curriculum supports pupils to become curious, independent and resilient learners.

For Ashill Primary School we are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who:

• Will be committed to ensuring that all children achieve the highest possible outcomes
• Can inspire and motivate children and enable them to be the best that they can be
• Has a passion to ensure high expectations for all teaching and learning, whilst ensuring outstanding pupil progress which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
• Has an understanding of collaborative learning
• To work in partnership with the head teacher, local governing body and the wider community to ensure that our mission and ethos is translated into action.
