Hours: Contracted as 3 hours per week, Term-Time Only. Typically, there will be two meetings each half term. The clerk may be asked to take on additional work according to need and this would be arranged in advance.

What will I be doing?
Are you organised, reliable and confident working with people? Could you help our Governing Board make a positive difference to our school community?
Knights Templar Community Church School is looking to appoint a Clerk to Governors to provide effective administrative and procedural support to our Governing Board.
This is an important role within our school community. The Clerk will work closely with the Headteacher, Chair of Governors and wider Governing Board to ensure that meetings are well organised, accurately recorded and conducted in accordance with relevant regulations and guidance.
The role will include:
- Organising and preparing agendas and papers for Governing Board meetings.
- Attending meetings and producing accurate, clear and timely minutes.
- Maintaining records of governor attendance, declarations of interest and actions.
- Supporting governors to meet their statutory responsibilities.
- Advising the Governing Board on relevant procedures, regulations and deadlines.
- Following up agreed actions and ensuring appropriate records are maintained.
- Providing a professional and confidential service to the school and Governing Board.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
- Highly organised and able to manage deadlines effectively.
- An excellent communicator with strong written English skills.
- Accurate and confident in taking and producing formal minutes.
- Able to work independently while developing positive relationships with governors and school leaders.
- Discreet and trustworthy, with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
- Interested in education and committed to supporting the work of governors and the school.
Previous experience of clerking for a governing board is desirable, but not essential, as appropriate training and support can be provided for the right candidate.
