You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, develop valuable data and analytical skills, and gain practical experience supporting projects that help protect Somerset’s communities, environment and infrastructure.

What will I be doing?

As a Data and Intelligence Graduate, you’ll support the collection, analysis and application of data that informs the Somerset Flood Resilience Programme. • Support the delivery of projects by carrying out research, maintaining records and coordinating key activities.
  • Assist with improvements to systems, processes and ways of working to enhance programme effectiveness.
  • Work closely with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to share information and support collaborative working.
  • Use digital tools and technology to provide data and intelligence support across the programme.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification, with a classification of at least 2:2 (obtained within the last 3 years).
  • Strong analytical, technical and IT skills, with the ability to work confidently with data and digital tools.
  • Experience gathering, researching and analysing information to support decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles, and a commitment to safe and professional working practices.
