What will I be doing?

This role is linked to the general advice service delivered across Somerset and is funded by Somerset Council to provide the Homelessness Reduction Service. The postholder will be responsible for providing follow-on advice and casework and hold a caseload.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

This role will be suitable for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and some experience of working with clients experiencing critical or complex circumstances. The postholder will have proven expertise in the use of online applications and IT systems and will be confident in working remotely including to deliver advice via online platforms or phones.

The nature of the follow-on advice and casework will vary and will include housing, debt, income maximisation and benefits. The postholder will be a qualified adviser with relevant advice experience. Training will be provided to support the postholder to achieve the competency requirements for specialist casework.
