As our Deputy Headteacher – Inclusion, you will:

  • Lead and shape the vision for SEND, inclusion, attendance and vulnerable learners across two schools.
  • Line manage and develop SENDCos, building capacity and excellence in provision.
  • Drive improvements in outcomes, attendance, engagement and wellbeing for children who need us most.
  • Work directly with the Headteacher and senior leaders to secure exceptional education for every child.
  • Influence practice beyond individual classrooms, creating systems and cultures where inclusion is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, local authorities, health services and external agencies.

This is a predominantly non-class-based leadership role, allowing you to focus on strategic impact whilst remaining closely connected to pupils, staff and families.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We are looking for an exceptional practitioner who:

  • Is an experienced SENDCo with a proven record of securing excellent outcomes for children with SEND.
  • Has high aspirations for every child and refuses to accept barriers to achievement.
  • Can inspire, challenge and support colleagues to continually improve practice.

  • Builds strong relationships with families and external professionals.
  • Is ready to take on wider whole-school leadership responsibilities and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Shares our belief that inclusion is not a department but a culture.

Whether you are an established Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion or an outstanding SENDCo seeking your first Deputy Headship, we would love to hear from you.
