What will I be doing?

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner.  This will be to support our Childcare Manager in the delivery of high quality Early Years provision in the Fledglings Nursery.  The successful candidate must have relevant experience with a sound knowledge of the EYFS and child development. Candidates must possess excellent planning and communication skills, be self motivated and be flexible.  Working effectively as a team is an essential attribute, along with a good sense of humour.

As a member of the Fledglings Nursery Team:

  • Provide a welcoming, caring environment for children aged 2 – 5 years
  • Work in partnership with staff, parents, carers and their children aged 2 – 5 years.
  • Adopt a flexible, thorough approach to planning and delivering activities to promote the development, enthusiasm, welfare and potential of all children.
  • Provide high quality, inclusive, fully integrated childcare provision for children under five.
  • To support and work within the Extended School provision as required for children aged 2 – 11 years.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

You will be required:

  • To be a committed, enthusiastic and reflective practitioner
  • To have a breadth and depth of knowledge, skills and understanding in Early Years Education
  • To be able to demonstrate your understanding of the individual and diverse way that young children learn and develop
  • To be able to actively support and extend children’s learning in and across all aspects of learning
  • To work successfully with colleagues and other professionals both within and outside the setting
  • To be able to work well and develop good relations with children and adults
  • To be sensitive, positive and non-judgmental when working with children and their families
  • To be committed to ongoing training in order to develop and improve all aspects of your work
  • To ensure that children’s special educational needs are met and adequate provision is made to ensure that all pupils are fully included.
  • To be committed to equal opportunities and understanding of religious and cultural diversity
  • To have GCSE in English – Grade C or above
  • To have the ability to write clear reports
  • To be in good mental and physical health
  • To be qualified to at least Level 3 standard
