  • Your work base will be County Hall, Taunton with the opportunity to work flexibly in line with the demands of the role.
  • 30 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • Permanent for 37 hours per week.

What will I be doing?

Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated Employee Relations Advisor to join our Employee Relations team which sits within the HR & OD Service.

You will provide professional advice, guidance, and support to managers within the Social Landlord Housing Service, on a wide range of employment related issues. You will be responsible for delivering options, progress, and solutions on various casework to the manager.

This role covers a wide range of employment related issues including recruitment, sickness absence Management, performance, investigations, disciplinary, grievances, leading on TUPE and interpretation of terms and conditions of service.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

You will:

  • have excellent interpersonal skills
  • have the ability to adapt your approach to different situations
  • have the capability to influence, challenge, and think creatively to resolve employee relation matters.
  • have proven experience in a variety of HR casework and complex employment hearings.
  • be able to interpret analytical data to help support advice and decision making

You should be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, effectively manage and prioritise a varied workload, and possess strong knowledge of relevant Employment legislation and HR best practices.
