About the job

What will I be doing?

The clean energy sector will be one of the defining economic stories of the next decade. Tens of thousands of jobs will be created with major infrastructure projects (nuclear new build, offshore wind, electricity networks, battery giga factories) and will transform our energy landscape along with the demand for skilled people. But none of that happens without employers who are engaged, informed and actively investing in the next generation of their workforce.

The Employer Engagement Manager exists to make that connection real. This is the role that builds and sustains UCS College Group’s relationships with the clean energy sector and drives the success of the sector’s involvement and the benefit from our status as a Clean Energy Technical Excellence College. The backbone of our local industry is formed by the major primes and Tier 1 contractors that anchor our national delivery to the SME supply chain. It is the role that ensures employers do not just know about our Clean Energy Technical Excellence College but are actively shaping it, investing in it and championing it.

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Clean Energy TEC, you will be our primary ambassador to industry, articulating the value of the TEC with clarity and confidence, opening doors into major employer organisations and their supply chains, brokering co-investment, facilitating employer governance and ensuring the skills needs of the sector are captured and fed back into curriculum and programme development. You will work closely with the Assistant Principal and the wider TEC team you will ensure employer intelligence drives delivery, not just informs it.

This is a role for you if you have real commercial instinct, deep relationship-building skill and a genuine passion for the clean energy agenda. You will be able to sit across the table from a Hinkley Point C project director or a solar installation SME owner with equal confidence, and understand that the best employer relationships are partnerships built on mutual trust, shared ambition and tangible return on investment for both sides.

* Flexible and hybrid working will be considered for the right candidate.
