What will I be doing?
Make a difference where you live. Join us as our new Estates Officer.
Street Parish Council is seeking a practical, motivated, and community minded Estates Officer to take the lead in managing, maintaining, and improving the Council’s parks, open spaces, play areas and public assets.
This is a hands on and varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be working outdoors and indoors, coordinating maintenance, carrying out inspections, managing contractors, and ensuring our facilities are safe, attractive, and welcoming for residents and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Weekly visual inspections of Street Parish play equipment and assets.
- Routine and planned maintenance of Street Parish Council play areas, open spaces and assets
- Managing grounds and environmental maintenance across Parish sites
- Conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance checks
- Overseeing contractors and managing small projects
- Responding to public enquiries
- Ensuring high presentation standards and quick response to issues
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in estates, facilities, or grounds maintenance
- Understands health & safety requirements
- Can work independently and take initiative
- Is organised, reliable, and proactive
- Enjoys practical, hands on work
- Has good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Is friendly, approachable and enjoys spending time outside in our parks and open spaces!
