About the job

QET Central Offices, Haygrove School, Bridgwater, TA6 7HW (Hybrid to include time in Trust Office/Schools)

Part-time 30 hours per week

What will I be doing?

Quantock Education Trust is a growing and ambitious mixed Multi Academy Trust founded in 2019. We are defined by our values and ethos, which drive our all-through school improvement model. Our schools advocate for all children and place a strong emphasis on character development as well as academic achievement.

Are you ready to step into a key strategic role where your financial expertise can make a real difference? We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our central Trust Finance Team and support our schools and leadership in delivering robust, accurate and insightful financial management. This is more than just a reporting role. You will be the trusted link between finance and strategy – producing clear, insightful monthly management packs, leading engaging budget conversations with Headteachers, and working hand-in hand with central teams to build accurate budgets and forecasts. You will also take ownership of important returns to the Department for Education, support annual audits, and help ensure our finance systems run smoothly and effectively.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We want someone who is confident working with numbers but equally confident working with people – someone who can challenge, guide, and influence. You will be analytical, organised, and proactive, with a passion for continuous improvement and a sharp eye for detail. Experience in the education or public sector would be desirable, but what matters most is your ability to translate financial information into meaningful insight.

What is in it for me?

  • A dynamic leadership role within a forward-thinking Multi Academy Trust where your voice is valued, your expertise respected and your growth supported
  • A collaborative environment where finance is at the heart of decision-making, and impact on the way our schools thrive.
  • Generous annual leave
  • Competitive salary and hybrid working flexibility
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Eligibility for a Blue Light Card and more.
