Newbridge Primary School is a two form entry maintained primary school on the western outskirts of Bath, set within exceptional grounds, serving over 400 children aged 4–11. In their December 2024 report, Ofsted described us as “a caring and welcoming school that puts pupils at the heart of all it does.” Newbridge is a place where experienced staff, wonderful children and a supportive wider community work together to create a genuinely positive and nurturing environment.

What will I be doing?

Our wonderful maintained primary school in Bath & North East Somerset is looking for an experienced leader who is seeking a new opportunity or considering a move to the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath. We are inviting applications for a Headteacher who will lead our two-form entry primary school, with vision, integrity and care, providing strong strategic and operational leadership for our thriving, ambitious and supportive school community.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We are seeking a Headteacher for Newbridge Primary School, Bath who will:

  • Provide strong strategic and operational leadership, sustaining the school’s vision, ethos and drive for continuous improvement in partnership with governors, staff and the community.
  • Champion a positive, inclusive and nurturing culture where every child is valued, respected and well prepared for the next stage of life.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum design, enabling all pupils, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND, to thrive.
  • Lead a broad, balanced and coherent curriculum, using assessment effectively to identify gaps and improve outcomes.
  •  Model a robust safeguarding culture, ensuring pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour and safety are central to all practice and decision-making.
  • Develop, motivate and retain a high-performing staff team through strong professional relationships and high-quality development.
  • Manage people, systems and resources effectively, building strong partnerships and ensuring financial stability, accountability and statutory compliance.
  • Work openly and transparently with governors, supporting them in their role of strategic oversight, accountability and challenge, and ensuring the school meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.
