Devon County Councils Asset Delivery Team are recruiting two Full-Time Highway Asset Officers, predominantly based in the Teignbridge area and/or the Exeter/Eastern area of the County.
What will I be doing?
The Highway Asset Officers role is as a part of a team with responsibility for the ongoing management and maintenance of Devon’s highway assets. There may, at times, be a requirement to work across other areas of Devon as part of a wider Asset Delivery Team.
The position involves the following key tasks:
- The design and pricing of highway maintenance schemes including, (but not exclusive to), drainage, patching, resurfacing and footway works using Term Maintenance and Framework Contracts
- Contractor and Stakeholder engagement to assist in the planning and delivery of highway maintenance schemes
- Working alongside other Devon County Council teams to best understand community needs when planning and delivering highway maintenance schemes.
- Auditing highway maintenance schemes, including identifying and resolving remedial works as may be evident.
- To review, manage and approve payments for highway maintenance schemes
- To apply a working knowledge of appropriate highway policies and procedures, and maintain an awareness of technical developments and good working practice
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
