What will I be doing?

In addition to providing educational support, you will also take an active role in lunch supervision and OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) play initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lunch Supervision: Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children during lunch hours while promoting positive behaviours and social interactions.
  • OPAL Play: Facilitating engaging outdoor play opportunities that encourage active participation, creativity, and cooperative play among students, supporting their physical and emotional development.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting children’s educational journeys. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of Teaching and Learning: A solid background in supporting learning, specifically on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, ensuring tailored educational support that meets the diverse needs of our students. Experience within the Key Stage 2 learning environment is highly desirable.
  • Team Collaboration: The ability to work effectively as part of a team is crucial. You will be collaborating with class teachers, senior leaders, and support staff to ensure the highest standards of educational support and care for our children.
  • Adaptability: An ability to adapt to change is vital, as our school continually evolves to meet the needs of our students and curriculum. Flexibility in your approach will enhance learning experiences and aid in the implementation of innovative support strategies.
  • Positive and Patient Approach: A calm and consistent demeanour is essential when working with children who may be facing various challenges. Your positive attitude will play a key role in fostering a supportive atmosphere, helping students to feel valued and motivated in their learning.
