What will I be doing?
Thank you for taking the time to have a look at this great opportunity in our lovely school. It’s a place where no two days are ever the same, the environment is full of joy and laughter and of course there are always cakes and biscuits in the staff room!
We are looking for someone who provides high-quality teaching and learning experiences for pupils, ensuring they achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
To achieve our vision, it is imperative that we build an incredible team of outstanding educators, who want to challenge themselves to think outside the box, be creative and work hard to achieve something special.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, creative, and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher (KS1 Lead) to join our happy, successful, and forward-thinking school. We need a leader who is an excellent primary practitioner, with a proven track record of driving KS1 outcomes, inspiring colleagues, and ensuring every child reaches their full potential. We need colleagues who are ready to think big, improvise and learn alongside pupils; people who will strive to reach pupils in a flexible, progressive environment, which breaks the traditional walls between school and the world outside.
We are passionate about excellence in education, giving pupils the very best start in life with a firm belief that aspirational teaching transforms lives. Our core belief is that for all pupils to have high aspirations, they must believe in themselves, be actively engaged in their learning and see the connection between what they learn today and who they want to become tomorrow.
As KS1 Teacher (KS1 Lead), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all primary pupils achieve their best academic and personal outcomes. You will have direct management responsibility for KS1, ensuring exceptional quality of education, behaviour and attitudes across these phases. You will be specifically accountable for KS1 headline measures and phonics outcomes.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
- Are a strong KS1 practitioner with a passion for continuous provision-led EYFS/KS1 and extensive experience of driving high outcomes in reading, writing, maths and wider curriculum subjects
- Have experience of leading successful primary teams and raising standards across the primary phase
- Are passionate about teaching and learning and want to inspire future generations
- Have high expectations and a commitment to ensuring all children succeed
- Wish to work in a happy, friendly school with a positive culture
- Can make learning exciting, motivating and fun
- Bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to everything you do…
What is in it for me?
At North Petherton Community Primary School, our pupils:

We can offer you:

- An experienced, hard-working and supportive team
- A fun and friendly environment
