What will I be doing?
You will:
- lead a team of Building Surveying professionals who deliver a range of project work to deliver strategic outcomes for the council and lead the development and implementation of major building projects and leads the council’s condition survey programme.
- develop processes, policies and frameworks to ensure best value is obtained through specification, procurement and management of a wide range of projects.
- be qualified in a recognised and relevant discipline with extensive knowledge of building construction, defects and maintenance management. A positive and flexible ‘can do’ attitude is essential, along with the ability to work independently when required.
- lead an experienced multi-discipline team of building professionals delivering maintenance solutions across the property portfolio. A proven ability to manage and prioritise busy workloads is essential and to motivate and develop skilled workforce, establishing a customer-focussed culture and maintaining consistent quality standards in delivery.
You will need to be able to travel to other site countywide, and to areas that are not currently serviced by public transport.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

- Associate membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Building Surveying pathway) or membership of the Chartered Institute of Building.
- Evidence of work related continuing professional development.
- Proven financial and contract management skills
- Proven ability to deliver complex projects and programmes without supervision
- Evidence of working with and influencing a range of stakeholders and partner
