What will I be doing?
We are excited to develop our PE and Sports offer across our partnership of schools and we are seeking to appoint a dedicated, proactive and inclusive Lead to develop and lead the sports provision.
The role is a permanent role to work across the schools to lead and develop sports mentoring and the delivery of sequenced lessons in a wide range of PE and Sport activities. This role will also include lifeguarding responsibilities and some pool management.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
Successful candidate must hold a full UK driving license and have use of a vehicle to enable them to travel between schools as required.
We are looking for someone who has patience, resilience and can adapt to work with children and young people in both primary and secondary but who have a wide range of needs.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the PE and Sports provision for our partnership of schools, delivering high-quality lessons and activities
- Offer 1:1 mentoring through sport to young people who need a targeted approach
- Lead a team of sports practitioners including apprentices to develop the PE and sports offer across our schools
- Work closely with PE Leads and senior leaders to ensure planning and delivery is sequential and in-line with the schools curriculum
- Work flexibly for the needs of the schools to be able to develop and deliver lunchtime clubs and after school provision in-line with the Extended Services offer
- Have use of a vehicle and hold a full UK driving license to be able to travel across our partnership of schools
As the Lifeguard you will:
- Overseeing swimming activities in the Hydro pool and making sure that safety procedures, guidelines and policies are followed
- Warning of unsafe activities and enforcing water safety policies and pool regulations
- Providing first aid in the event of injury, rescuing swimmers in danger or distress and administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or artificial respiration, if necessary. Training can be arranged.
- Assessing conditions for safety and coming up with an action plan for aquatics emergency
- Inspecting pool equipment, facilities and water testing to make sure they are usable and safe
- Supervising and assisting in cleaning equipment and facilities
- Opening and closing the pool each day, depending on schedule and hours.
