Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, the largest non-metropolitan Fire and Rescue Service in England, has the opportunity for a Learning and Development and Apprenticeship Support Officer to join our People Services team at our Service Headquarters in Exeter. This is full-time position (37 hours per week) available of a Fixed Term Contract for 24 months that offers a competitive salary starting at £33,699 (gross) per annum (subject to job evaluation).

What will I be doing?

In this Learning and Development (L&D) and Apprenticeship Support Officer role you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of learning, training and apprenticeship initiatives across the organisation. This role combines administrative coordination with hands-on support in the design, delivery, and evaluation of training programmes and frameworks.
What You’ll do:
- Work closely with teams across the organisation to enhance organisational performance, learning and culture.
- Support key people development change initiatives.
- Support with the design and delivery of training programs that support both individual and team growth.
- Collaborate with a passionate team to foster continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Support the delivery of our ambitious People and Organisational Development Roadmap
- Support our award winning Apprenticeship program.
- Have a person-centred approach considering equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
- Strong background in learning & development, administration and apprenticeships.
- Experience of leadership development, cultural transformation, and supporting others through change.
- Support with supporting our vision to bring individual and team development and learning to be at the heart of everything we do.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion engagement principles.
- A proactive, innovative mindset with a passion for continuous learning.
