- Temporary contract due to funding until 31st August 2025 but likely to be renewed.
- LSA role – 19.5 hours per week, 8:45am – 12:15pm daily; 1.15pm – 1:55pm Monday – Wednesday.
- Grade 15 – 14 depending on experience, actual salary £10,565 – £11,073 based on FTE salary of £24,027 – £25,183 term time only 38 working weeks per year. (Up to 5x INSETs may be required as additional hours)
- It would be highly desirable if the successful candidate were able to work additional hours both as LSA as well as some MDSA cover through the week as required. (MDSA: Grade 16)
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Learning Support Assistant to support teaching staff within the Haselbury and Merriott Primary Schools Federation. Our school is a friendly and inclusive rural school at the centre of the village community. This role would include a mix of supporting provision as specified through an EHCP as well as some general class support in Key Stage 2.
The successful candidate will support the class teacher by:
- Supporting learning under the direction of the class teacher, to include leading 1-1 and small group sessions with learning sequences; supporting additional needs and carrying out timetabled evidence-based interventions.
- Adapting to the needs of individual pupils.
- Supporting with classroom duties as required by teaching staff.
- Supporting pupils to have happy and successful playtimes.

The successful candidate will:
- Have recent and relevant Teaching Assistant experience, including knowledge of teaching phonics and early reading.
- Have the knowledge and understanding to ensure children including disadvantaged and SEND pupils make good progress.
- Be able to relate effectively with learners and adults.
- It would be desirable if the candidate has had training to implement a range of evidence-based interventions.
