What will I be doing?

St Bartholomew’s Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work alongside our EYFS class team. The successful candidate will help provide a stable, caring, stimulating, and supportive learning environment for children within EYFS/ Yr 1, including those with additional needs.

The core purpose of this role is to work closely with the class teacher to support children with additional needs, ensuring they are fully engaged in their learning and making sustained progress. The role also involves promoting the child’s independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion through both 1:1 and small group sessions.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate respect for every child’s individuality and learning journey
  • Build trust through consistent, positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Show compassion in understanding and supporting the child’s needs
  • Inspire aspiration by encouraging the child to achieve their best
  • Contribute to our strong sense of community, working collaboratively with staff, parents, and governors
  • Have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant and demonstrate a good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Hold a relevant TA qualification or be willing to work towards achieving Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework
