LSA role
- 27 hours 25 minutes per week (Start time: 8:40am. End time: 3:15pm.)
- Term time only (38 working weeks) and up to 5 x INSETS may be required as additional hours per year paid on casual claim basis
- Actual salary: £14,857-£15,571, based on Grade 15 – 14 Scale Points 3 – 6 full-time equivalent salary range of £24,027-£25,183pa, depending on experience
Midday Supervisor role
- 3 hours per week (4x 30mins; 1x 1hour)
- term time only (38 working weeks)
- Actual Salary: £1,600 based on Grade 16 Scale Point 2 full-time equivalent salary £23,656pa
What will I be doing?
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Learning Support Assistant and Midday Supervisor to support teaching staff within the Merriott & Haselbury Plucknett Primary Schools Federation. Our school is a friendly and inclusive rural school at the centre of the village community.
This role would include a mix of general class support as well as supporting provision as specified through an EHCP in Key Stage 2.
The successful candidate will support the class teacher by:
- Supporting learning under the direction of the class teacher, to include leading 1-1 and small group sessions with learning sequences; supporting additional needs and carrying out timetabled evidence-based interventions.
- Adapting to the needs of individual pupils.
- Supporting with classroom duties as required by teaching staff.
- Supporting pupils to have happy and successful playtimes.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
The successful candidate will:
- Have recent and relevant Teaching Assistant experience, including knowledge of teaching phonics and early reading.
- Have the knowledge and understanding to ensure children including disadvantaged and SEND pupils make good progress.
- Be able to relate effectively with learners and adults.
- It would be desirable if the candidate has had training to implement a range of evidence-based interventions.
