Our setting

• From September 2025 we will be open from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday.
• We are open term time only, but you will also be expected to attend staff meetings as required.
• Our aim at Tatworth Pre-School and nursery is to provide a happy, safe, and caring environment in which both children and staff can thrive.

We are a lovely fully inclusive village pre-school that is looking to expand our setting with the addition of a nursery room. We were founded in 1969 and continue to grow from strength to strength being rated Good, with outstanding personal development at our last Ofsted inspection in 2023.

What will I be doing?

Tatworth Pre-school seek an enthusiastic nursery assistant/pre-school practitioners to join our friendly and experienced team. We are looking for new team members to help create a nurturing and engaging environment in which children can thrive. The role is with full key person responsibilities and meeting the individual targets of the Child.

• Ensure all children are cared for in a happy, secure, and stimulating environment.
• Have good knowledge, understanding and confidence in keeping children safe and implement Tatworth Pre-Schools safeguarding procedures appropriately.
• Carry out a key person role, building effective relationships with the parents and children, meeting the children’s individual care and learning needs.
• Supervise, observe, encourage, and support the children in meeting their personal targets through their interests, ensuring they progress and develop, leading them onto the path of school readiness.
• Plan, prepare and deliver the setting’s curriculum, to consistently meet the requirements of the EYFS.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

Essential Experience/criteria:

• Level 3 Childcare qualification (required)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in childcare
• All successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and register with the update service. The DBS must be maintained throughout the period of employment.
