  • Office based, remote or hybrid working considered
  • Holidays – 25 days and with more than 5 years continuous service this goes up to 28 days. This is inclusive of two statutory days, in addition, there are eight bank holiday days.
  • There are progression and development opportunities within the department. Candidates that wish to, can progress to the role of a legal assistant, which involves directly assisting solicitors with case management of files.

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Preparation and distribution of bundles to send to court
  • Redaction of documents
  • Monitoring incoming correspondence, documents and court orders
  • Filing and serving of documents to relevant parties
  • Monitoring upcoming hearings

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have the key skills experiences needed to be successful in this role here such as:-

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Good organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good IT skills to include experience of Microsoft systems, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to work collaboratively
  • Proven administrative skills
  • 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade C/Level 4 including English Language and Maths would be preferable
