King Ina C of E Academy is seeking an organised, friendly and efficient Pre-School Administrator to join our welcoming team. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our busy pre-school, providing essential administrative and financial support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the setting.
Working closely with the Pre-school Manager and Headteacher, you will play a key role in supporting our children, families and staff by managing financial administration, Early Years funding, invoicing, procurement and general office duties.
Hours
The post is for 14 hours per week, worked over three days, including lunch cover. There is flexibility regarding the days worked, by mutual agreement, to meet the needs of the pre-school.
What will I be doing?
The successful candidate will:
- Provide high-quality administrative support to the Pre-school Manager.
- Manage pre-school fees, invoicing, payments and financial records.
- Administer Early Years Entitlement funding claims and maintain accurate documentation.
- Support procurement and budget administration.
- Organise administrative arrangements for the annual pre-school trip.
- Maintain records and ensure compliance with Ofsted, Somerset Local Authority guidance and GDPR requirements.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, responding sensitively to enquiries and supporting families where appropriate.
- Provide occasional cover for Early Years Practitioners, including supporting children with activities and at mealtimes when required.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Is confident working with financial information and maintaining accurate records.
- Has good IT skills and is comfortable using a range of office systems.
- Can prioritise workloads and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates discretion and maintains confidentiality at all times.

Previous administrative experience is essential. Experience of working within an early years or school environment and knowledge of Early Years funding would be an advantage, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
