About the job

Key information

  • Permanent position, 37 hours per week.
  • 33 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
  • Flexible working available, using a hybrid model – working from home and your contracted work base.

What will I be doing?

You’ll be overseeing the property safety compliance for over 5600 properties, varying in size and complexity, and ensuring the safety of our tenants and leaseholders.

(We’re talking fire safety, water safety, asbestos, gas safety, electrical safety, radon, and lifts.)

As our Senior Compliance Lead, you’ll be the person that understands the bigger picture – what needs to be done, how it needs to be done, and who we need to work with to make it happen.

There’s a big leadership and management aspect to this role, and it’s an opportunity for you to come in and establish your own strategies and ways of doing things. You’ll be the expert, and we’ll be relying on you to get everybody on board with what needs to happen – whether it’s our executive leadership or the lead specialists in specific areas.

It’s a role that requires a delicate blend of strategic thinking and empathy – not just for your colleagues, but also for the tenants we’re here to serve.

This is a hybrid role – so a mix of working at home and at our office in Taunton.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

Given the nature of this job, it’s essential that you have experience in a similar role, working in the social housing sector.

That means you understand this sector and the skills needed to do this job successfully – so we won’t waste your time rattling off a long list of requirements.

(You’ll already know, for example, that you need to be a good people leader, an expert on property safety compliance and the kind of person who makes sure projects get completed on time and to the right specifications.)
