What will I be doing?
As a Repairs Surveyor, you’ll be our go-to expert for property maintenance surveys. You’ll help us keep our properties in top shape and make sure we’re providing the best homes we can for our tenants.
You’ll do this by carrying out building pathology surveys, helping us bring in specialist remedial contractors (e.g. damp and mould and structural experts) and managing our maintenance contracts to ensure that any work we need to do is carried out correctly.
We’ve built a culture where everyone works together and supports each other to do the best job we can for our tenants.
As part of this, you’ll also need to liaise with our tenants when we undertake surveys and monitoring works in their homes, so they know what work is being done, how and when it is going to be done and how we’ll work with them to minimise disruption wherever we can.
To give you a feel for the size of the role, we look after 5,600 properties – performing around 5000 emergency repairs and over 10,000 non-emergency repairs each year as well as around 300 void property repairs.
You’ll be provided a vehicle to use, and although there is a small degree of flexibility, you’ll be based in our depot in Wellington or out at our properties the majority of the time.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be.
Given the nature of this job, it’s essential that you have experience in a similar role within the housing sector and significant experience in undertaking property related building pathology surveys.
