37 hours: 0800 to 1600 Monday – Thursday, 0800 to 15:30 Friday.
28 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays.

What will I be doing?
We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
Leading and managing a team of tradespeople to deliver high quality repairs and maintenance across the housing stock.
Inspecting completed works to ensure it meets safety standards, building regulations and quality expectations.
Coordinating with other trades and supervisors to ensure seamless delivery of multi – trade repairs.
Providing on-site guidance, mentoring and training to team members to support their development.
Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
Liaising with tenants, contractors and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:
Proven experience in carpentry, ideally with supervisory responsibilities in housing maintenance or construction environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of tradespeople effectively.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, building codes and technical specifications.
Solid understanding of construction techniques, materials and safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills to liaise with tenants, contractors and internal teams.
A commitment to mentoring and developing team members through on-site guidance and training.
Preferred qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Carpentry and Joinery.
SSSTS or SMSTS
Health and Safety Certification CSCS .
