Grade 14 Point 4 – 6 (£25,185 – £25,989 pro rata, (£13.05 – £13.47 per hr)

Permanent post. Flexible hours up to 30 hours per week (early morning & late afternoon) all year round plus lettings. Job shares considered.

What will I be doing?

The governors are seeking to appoint an experienced caretaker to join our team. The successful candidate will be cheerful, self-motivated, detail-oriented and hands-on.

The caretaker will be our site manager and will be part of our dedicated and hard-working cleaning team who ensure our school provides a welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Site keyholder, ensuring that the school is secure at all times
• Maintaining the school grounds, including routine inspections to identify issues, repairs, painting and landscaping
• Carry out general cleaning duties and oversee the work of the cleaning staff
• Coordinating with outside contractors for repairs and maintenance
• Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff
• Management of waste/refuse on site
• Maintain safe condition of areas of limited access (boiler and store rooms)
• Operate within the constraints of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
• Stock control of cleaning supplies
• Service any evening/weekend lettings
• Additional duties as assigned by the headteacher or other staff members
