What will I be doing?

We are seeking a compassionate, patient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at Bampton Church of England Primary School.

This is a rewarding opportunity to primarily provide dedicated support for a pupil with special educational needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, build positive relationships and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCO, parents and external professionals, you will play a key role in implementing personalised support strategies, adapting learning activities where appropriate and promoting the pupil’s independence, wellbeing and engagement in school life.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

  • Has experience of supporting children with special educational needs, either in a school or similar setting.
  • Is calm, patient and able to build positive, trusting relationships with children.
  • Can adapt their approach to meet an individual child’s needs.
  • Is committed to inclusion and believes every child can succeed.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with colleagues and families.
