What will I be doing?
Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential? Do you have experience working with children? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
Our small, rural and friendly school is seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role will involve providing targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including dedicated 1:1 support for an individual child and the delivery of small-group interventions to help children develop their communication, social, emotional and learning skills.
Working closely with teachers, the SENDCo and other support staff, you will help create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to succeed. You will adapt your approach to meet individual needs, promote independence and confidence, and contribute to the progress and wellbeing of the children you support.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
The successful candidate will be nurturing, flexible and committed to ensuring all children can thrive. Experience of working with children with SEND, delivering interventions or supporting children with communication, social or emotional needs would be advantageous.
We would like you to:
- Hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
- Have experience working as a teaching assistant with children with additional needs.
- Be passionate about inclusion and meeting children’s individual needs.
- Be positive, proactive, and always solution focused.
- Have high expectations of yourself, keeping all children at the heart of your practice.
- Be a team player with a good sense of humour.
- Be willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for our pupils.
- Enjoy developing learning through play
