What will I be doing?
We wish to appoint a dynamic, enthusiatic and inspirational SEN Teaching Assistant to support our new KS2 SEN Unit opening in September 2026. You will be working with a class of eight KS2 children with SEN and in the main school. At Northgate we are a happy and forward thinking school and we are lucky to have an onsite Nursery/Preschool.
You’ll be part of a supportive and ambitious team who are committed to helping every child reach their full potential. You’ll join colleagues who work collaboratively to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where staff and pupils thrive together.
Under the supervision of the class teacher and/or SENCo you will be expected to undertake a range of directed activites to support the educational and development needs of pupils. This will involve contributing to the supervision and welfare of pupils within the SEN Hub and main school.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Experience of working with children with Autism and/orEHCPs is desirable
- Have the ability to establish good relationships within the team, with other colleagues and with pupils
- Have a positive approach to school self-evaluation and high standards
- Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment
