At Beech Grove, we are proud of our strong sense of teamwork and commitment to excellence. Our pupils are achieving more than ever, and we’re looking for someone who will help us continue that journey. We invest in our staff through high-quality training, professional development, and wellbeing support.
What will I be doing?
In this role, you will work closely with both the SENCO and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), often working independently, to provide essential administrative and organisational support. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring that pupils with SEND receive the best possible support and that the school’s safeguarding procedures are effectively maintained.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential records, supporting statutory SEND and safeguarding processes, coordinating meetings and reviews, liaising with families and external agencies, and ensuring that key systems and documentation remain organised, compliant, and up to date. Your contribution will help ensure that vulnerable pupils receive timely support and that the school meets its statutory responsibilities.
The hours may be flexible depending on the workload and priorities within the SEND and safeguarding teams, allowing for adjustments when needs and demands change throughout the school year.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and committed to supporting children and families. The successful candidate will be passionate about inclusion and pupil welfare, understand the importance of confidentiality, and have the ability to manage a varied workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be:
- Skilled in managing deadlines and prioritising tasks.
- A strong communicator who can work effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident in handling sensitive information discreetly.
- A team player who is committed to making a difference.
- Keen to engage with continuing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the SENCO with the administration and coordination of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including tracking deadlines and liaising with the Local Authority.
- Organise and schedule annual reviews, SEND meetings, and meetings with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential SEND records and pupil files.
- Prepare documentation and reports for statutory SEND processes, school reviews, and internal monitoring.
- Support the SENCO with SEND-related data collection, tracking, compliance, and reporting.
- Provide administrative support to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), including maintaining safeguarding records and ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Assist with the administration of safeguarding referrals, multi-agency communications, and relevant documentation.
- Attend and record notes from Team Around the Family (TAF), Child in Need, and other multi-agency meetings as required.
- Monitor key SEND and safeguarding deadlines and support the completion of statutory processes.
- Liaise professionally with parents, carers, staff, governors, external agencies, and Local Authority representatives.
- Ensure all SEND and safeguarding information is handled in line with data protection requirements and confidentiality protocols.
- Provide general administrative support, including correspondence, record keeping, and preparation of resources and meeting materials.
What is in it for me?
We offer a school that is:
- Welcoming and friendly, with pupils who are enthusiastic and keen to learn.
- Committed to ensuring all pupils reach their full potential and develop as well-rounded individuals.
- Staffed by a highly skilled, supportive, and collaborative team who strive for excellence.
- Dedicated to providing high-quality professional development and opportunities for career progression.
- Passionate about continuous school improvement and open to new ideas and innovation.
- Governed by a strong, supportive, and engaged Board of Governors.
- Committed to staff wellbeing and creating a positive working environment.
- Supportive of flexible working arrangements where these can be accommodated alongside the needs of the role and the school.
- A place where every member of staff is valued and encouraged to contribute to the wider life of the school.
