SEND Teaching Assistant, 15.75 hours per week, term-time only and Midday Supervisor 1.5 hour per week, term-time only. 17.25 hours per week combined.
The hours will be worked Wednesday-Friday 8:45-12:15, including a 15-minute break, and 13:15-15:15. This is a fixed term contract for one year in the first instance subject to school funding with the post starting in September 2026.
Salary
- Midday supervisor grade 16.2= £12.85 per hour
- Teaching Assistant grade 15.3 = £12.85 per hour
What will I be doing?
Due to the exciting expansion of our successful SEND Unit, we are looking for a teaching assistant to join our dedicated team working specifically to support children with special educational needs in The Den.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, Head Teacher, SENCo, external professionals and parents. They will be responsible for adapting the curriculum for the children in The Den, carrying out interventions, tracking and monitoring progress.
In addition, this role is being combined with a MDSA role with the successful candidate responsible for supervising children in the Den for part of the lunch break and administering First Aid as required.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a NVQ Level 3
- Have experience working as a teaching assistant with primary age children
- Have experience and/or knowledge of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Be passionate about inclusion and meeting children’s individual needs
- Be highly motivated, resilient and committed to securing the best possible outcomes for our children
- Be positive, proactive and always solution focused
- Have high expectations of themselves and the children they work with
- Be a team player with a good sense of humour
- Be willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for our pupils
- Be able to use initiative to introduce interesting ways of learning
