What will I be doing?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Teaching Assistant to join our hard-working, dedicated team. The role will include working with children with high levels of need and specifically children with social, emotion and mental health needs. The role will involve some time working 1:1, in small groups or the whole class.

The role may include working with children with social communication needs who will need support to:

  • express and regulate their emotions and behaviours,
  • develop positive relationships,
  • engage and cope with learning,
  • manage anxiety and behaviour which may present as challenging or disruptive.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

The successful candidate will:

  • Preferably have a Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and/or have previous experience of working with children.
  • Have an enthusiastic and positive outlook to team working and developing successful outcomes for all children.
  • Develop confidence and self-esteem in children and establish clear boundaries.
  • Have experience of working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils who need additional help and support.
  • Support assessment for learning and assist others to help children achieve their full potential.
  • Promote children’s positive behaviour, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Have good behaviour management skills and maintain a high level of professionalism, resilience and be self-motivated.
  • Have a good level of English, Maths and Computing Skills.
  • Engage in continuous professional development.
