What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We are looking for someone who has:
- A commitment to high standards, personal success and ongoing professional development
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community
- An understanding of strategic SEND leadership, with the motivation to consistently demonstrate how to maintain an overview of provision for pupils with SEND and monitor its quality across the school
- A reflective approach and willingness to contribute to whole-school self-evaluation, particularly in relation to SEND provision and pupil outcomes
- The confidence to implement the SEND policy in day-to-day practice, ensuring it aligns with the school development plan and supports the needs of all learners
- An eagerness to stay informed about national and local SEND initiatives, and the commitment to keep up to date with evolving policy and best practice
- A thoughtful, analytical approach to evaluating the use of SEND funding, with support, identifying improvements that make a real difference to pupils’ experiences and progress
