What will I be doing?

As a Senior Business Operations Assistant, you’ll provide high-quality administrative and operational support to practitioners, managers and senior leaders across a range of council services. You’ll coordinate complex activities, including organising and minuting multi-agency meetings, supporting casework processes, and maintaining accurate records that contribute to key service decisions.

Acting as a key point of contact, you’ll manage enquiries, prioritise workloads, and provide timely support to colleagues, residents and partner agencies. You’ll also help maintain business systems, support financial and data processes, and play an important role in delivering efficient, high-quality services.

How You’ll Make a Difference

  • Keep services running smoothly by providing high-quality business support to managers, practitioners and partner agencies.
  • Coordinate important meetings, panels and reviews, ensuring accurate records and statutory deadlines are met.
  • Be the first point of contact for enquiries, offering professional, sensitive and helpful support to service users and stakeholders.
  • Use systems and data to monitor performance, produce reports and help identify areas for improvement.
  • Build strong relationships across teams and partner organisations, helping deliver positive outcomes for children, families and communities.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands, make decisions and work at pace.
  • Experience in an office or administrative role, including customer service and supporting meetings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook, with good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience handling data across multiple systems, with an understanding of data protection and database use.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Educated to GCSE level (including English and Maths) or hold an NVQ Level 3, QCF Level 2, or equivalent qualification.

Part-time hours will be considered, with a minimum of 18.5 hrs per week, working flexibly across the week including Wednesday office attendance.
