What will I be doing?

Stawley and Sampford Arundel Primary Schools are seeking a dedicated, flexible and empathetic professional to join our fantastic team. This is an exciting part-time role working with the dedicated staff of both schools to support our children with special educational needs.

As SENDCo, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading provision for our SEND pupils. Working closely with senior leaders, teachers, support staff, families and external agencies, you will champion inclusive practice and ensure that pupils with SEND achieve the very best outcomes.

In our schools our standards of behaviour and pastoral care are high. Every child is an individual and, in our schools, we encourage this to shine. We support and problem solve creatively to ensure our core offer supports all our children to grow and understand themselves, their skills and strengths.

The role is part-time 0.4 FTE across both schools. The role could be expanded 0.2 FTE if this was needed to secure the best person for the role.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We are looking for:

  • An excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for inclusive education.
  • A qualified SENDCo or willingness to undertake the qualification.
  • A compassionate and resilient leader with high expectations for all pupils.
  • Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
  • Someone committed to safeguarding, wellbeing and removing barriers to learning for all pupils.
  • Has high expectations and a determination to secure the best outcomes for all pupils.
  • Is resilient, reflective and solution focused.
  • Is organised and flexible

What is in it for me?

  • Children who are enthusiastic, respectful, hardworking and talented.
  • A team committed to creative solution finding and child first ethos.
  • Colleagues who are used to covering a multitude of roles and are very willing to try new approaches.
  • Staff development through National College and beyond.
  • An environment where colleagues are experienced in a wide range of intervention strategies, creative support and an enhanced universal provision.
