About the job

What will I be doing?

The post holder will join the successful Sport provision at UCS College Group, supporting the continued development and delivery of high-quality sports therapy and athlete support for students across the Group.

The post holder will play a proactive role in supporting student participation, performance, progression and personal development through the provision of high-quality sports therapy. The role will contribute to the College Group’s ambition to provide an inclusive, ambitious and high-quality sporting environment where students can develop both on and off the field.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality sports therapy support, including injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and injury prevention, and will contribute to the planning, development and continuous improvement of athlete support across the Group. This will include supporting competitive teams and individual student athletes, working alongside coaches and wider support staff to promote student wellbeing, safe participation, performance and appropriate return-to-play pathways, while ensuring provision aligns with the wider Team UCS and Sport strategy.

A key element of the role will be developing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant internal and external partners, including National Governing Bodies, Association of Colleges Sport, local and regional sporting organisations, healthcare and therapy providers, schools, community organisations, and professional and semi-professional sports clubs. These relationships will support student welfare, athlete development, progression, access to appropriate support and the continued development of sports therapy provision across UCS College Group.

The post holder will be expected to bring a proactive and developmental approach to the role, identifying opportunities to strengthen sports therapy provision, improve injury prevention and rehabilitation, support student participation and performance, and contribute to the continued growth and improvement of Sport across UCS College Group.
