What will I be doing?
We are seeking to appoint an empathetic and resilient individual to manage a caseload of students who are currently not attending or engaging with school due to emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). You will provide vital educational and pastoral support to students and their families, with the ultimate aim of facilitating a successful re-integration into school life. Experience supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), mental health challenges, or EBSA is preferred. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for home visits is required. In the role as Attendance Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Principal and Attendance Manager to ensure excellent whole school attendance and reduce gaps within the attendance of key sub-groups.
What is in it for me?
You will join a team of staff committed to improving the life chances of all young people in their care. You must have excellent ICT and organisational skills, and be confident in working with students and staff alike. It is essential that you are able to develop positive relationships and effective working practices to be able to support young people and their families. You must be pro-active and flexible. A commitment to improving the outcomes of all students is essential, and experience of working with those who have additional needs desirable.
