What will I be doing?
We are looking for a kind, patient, and reliable Support Worker to assist a wonderful, bright and engaging non-verbal child. This role will involve supporting the child’s daily routines, encouraging communication through alternative methods (e.g., PECS, gestures, or assistive devices), and promoting independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide consistent, compassionate 1:1 support
- Support with communication and interaction needs
- Assist with daily routines and light personal care (nappy changes/handwashing)
- Encourage learning through play
- Work collaboratively with parents and any other professionals involved
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
- Experience with children with additional needs, particularly non-verbal communication
- Calm, patient, and empathetic nature
- Ability to build trust and rapport
- Basic understanding of alternative communication methods (training can be provided)
- Relevant qualifications or training in support work or special needs (preferred but not essential)
