About the job

Key information

  • Start date: September 2026
  • Contract term: Permanent
  • Contract type: Full Time
  • Suitable for ECTs: Yes

What will I be doing?

Due to the increasing popularity of Statistics among our students, we are looking for a practitioner to lead on this growing area of our curriculum.

While the ability to take the lead on Statistics is highly desirable, it is not essential, and we would not want this to discourage a great teacher from applying. We are primarily looking for an outstanding educator; for the right candidate, we are happy to provide the necessary support and professional development to help you step into this leadership role as the subject continues to expand.

We can offer the opportunity to teach in a “happy, inclusive and caring school”.
“The school’s ethos is built on warm and respectful relationships between staff and pupils”.
Where “Staff feel valued and empowered.”
Quotes from recent “Good” Ofsted Nov 23.

We are an 11-16 Academy in Somerset, serving the town of Yeovil and the surrounding villages. Westfield is an oversubscribed and successful school with a good reputation. This is due to our reputation as a child centred organisation that has exemplary behaviour and an unmatched pastoral system that puts the welfare of students and staff at its core.

What is in it for me?

We can offer you:

  • A Chromebook for each member of the teaching staff
  • A committed and supportive leadership team, teaching and support staff
  • A range of career development opportunities including induction and mentoring
  • A stable and caring school community with well behaved, motivated and delightful students
  • A pleasant, green site with outstanding facilities
  • An opportunity to live and work in a fantastic part of the country.
  • A school that has teachers’ professional autonomy as a key priority.
  • A strong vibrant staff social ethos for example with a staff choir, staff steel pan band, five a side football

We are looking for people with:

  • A passion for learning and teaching and an ambition to develop their own practice
  • The ability to inspire students to attain the highest possible outcomes
