At Beech Grove, we are proud of our strong sense of teamwork and commitment to excellence. Our pupils are achieving more than ever, and we’re looking for someone who will help us continue that journey. We invest in our staff through high-quality training, professional development, and wellbeing support.

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and proactive professional to join our inclusive and welcoming school as a teaching assistant supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.

What will I be doing?

The successful candidate will provide support to pupils across the school, including some 1:1 support for a pupil in Key Stage 1, alongside more general classroom deployment and the delivery of targeted interventions. This is a varied role that requires flexibility, initiative and a commitment to helping all pupils achieve their full potential.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils who need consistent, nurturing and structured support to thrive. You will join a forward-thinking team where staff wellbeing, collaboration and professional growth are valued and prioritised.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience of working with primary-aged pupils, including those with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • Is patient, resilient and committed to building positive, trusting relationships with children.
  • Understands the importance of emotional regulation, routine and consistency in supporting vulnerable pupils.
  • Is confident supporting individual pupils, small groups and whole-class learning, adapting activities to meet a range of needs.
  • Is flexible and able to respond positively to changing needs throughout the school day.
  • Is solution-focused, calm under pressure and able to respond positively to challenges.
  • Has high expectations for all pupils and a strong commitment to inclusion.
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff, parents and professionals.

What is in it for me?

  • The opportunity to be part of a highly committed team who are passionate about their school and determined to see all pupils succeed.
  • A happy and supportive working environment where everyone’s contributions are valued.
  • Keen and enthusiastic children who want to learn.
  • Encouragement to develop new ideas and the opportunity to make a real difference.
  • High-quality training and a commitment to your professional development.
  • A culture that prioritises staff wellbeing and collaborative working.
