This is a term time post of 18 hours per week. Term time only, 3 days per week (8:45 to 3:15 with 30 minutes for lunch).

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

The successful candidate:

  • Has experience or an interest in working with children with complex needs.
  • Can develop confidence and self-esteem but also establish clear boundaries
  • Is experienced in working with children who have special educational needs, has a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting children’s needs, with a resilient mind-set.
  • Can demonstrate good communication, listening, and questioning skills
  • Is committed to inclusion
  • Is able to promote high standards of behaviour through positive language and attitudes
  • Is aware of dysregulation strategies, support for speech and language challenges and able to use play-based approaches
  • Has the ability to remain calm under all circumstances
  • Is willing and able to work collaboratively and flexibly with staff, parents/carers and other agencies as required.

The role will involve supporting a child who has specific needs.
